I was amused by your comment on my user page! I was just pushing your buttons. And since that worked I will respond to all that BS you said./i>

If you were just pushing my buttons, why bother to reply to what I had to say?

Ummm maybe because guns tear and bloody skin better than anything.

I repeat: Why should I like guns just because I like my skin torn and bloodied? Do you know WHY I like my skin this way? Do you know HOW I like to get my skin this way? No? Then shut the fuck up.

No, I DID get what you were trying to say. What I am saying is that guns do NOT equal violence. Are they used in violent crimes? YES! But the person who is holding the gun is the violent part not the gun itself. A gun is a metal object that has no control over itself. The human makes it a violent object. Guns can and ARE used for sporting. I don't see what is violent about target shooting.
Knives can be just as violent as guns, but I don't see anybody complaining about too many knives in this world...

If you got what I was trying to say, and the meaning behind the piece, then you wouldn't be babbling all this bullshit at me right now :) (Smile) Just because guns are used for sporting ETC does not make them any less violent. I am not saying that guns are the only things that will take away a child's innocence. It was merely the way I choose to express it. You're just splitting hairs.

I grew up in the same world as you did. There is violence in this world, but the world was violent for my parents and for my grandparents. The world was, is, and will continue to be a violent place. No matter what you try to shield you child from, this world will be violent and eventually that child will realize the world is not perfect. It never will be. It's just your (the parent's) job to teach that child right from wrong. If every parent did this then maybe there would be a lot less violence in this world. Maybe kids wouldn't use guns(or other things - like knives) to kill people if they were just taught right from wrong.

I do teach my child right from wrong. That doesn't mean I have to LIKE the violence in this world, nor does it mean that I cannot choose to express my opinions artistically.

Don't come back to my page until you have expanded your shallow views and opinions. There are a million and one ways for a child to lose his innocence and this world, I was merely trying to show one of them. Thankyou kindly for belittling it :) (Smile)

You said:

I see a stick not a gun. And just because a kid knows how to shoot a gun doesn't mean he's not innocent. If he shoots somebody else then he loses the "innocence."

But from what I see on your user page here at DA it seems you should like guns. I mean your "Skin of choice" is "torn and bloodied" and you list blood and a cemetary as your "Loves" on your DA ID....

Why should I like guns just because I like my skin torn and bloodied?

I don't think you were getting the meaning behind the piece at all. It's supposed to be a shadow of the child's future self, perhaps.. where so many of todays children are allowed to hold onto their innocence for such a short period of time, before they a thrust into a world full of so much hate and violence. Just because I am old enough to have experienced what this world has to 'offer', does not mean I want my child growing up in such a life, and I was trying to make a subtle statement about it...

You see a stick and not a gun in the shadow. Good for you. Invest in an imagination sometime, and get back to me. They're pretty damn useful when it comes to art.

Also, do you have a problem with my liking blood? My DA ID should have absolutely NOTHING to do with the way you see my piece, the way you perceive it's meaning. If you were looking at something in a gallery, you would likely have NO WAY of knowing who the person behind the piece was, what they stood for, what their beliefs were, what they love, what they hate..

Just keep this in mind next time. And don't be so fucking presumptuous to assume that just because I have a fetish for blood and cemetaries, that I am pro-death or pro-murder or pro-guns or whatever bullshit you've concocted in your mind.

Oh, and what exactly is wrong with liking the cemetary? I happen to find them to be wonderfully relaxing and quiet places.
